About Me:
Hello, My name is Aaron Crawford and I've taught Elementary Physical Education for 12 years---all here at Bacon. I work as a whitewater river guide in the summers on the Cache la Poudre river and enjoy hiking/backpacking, fishing, photography, gardening and road bicycling. I'm currently working towards my master's degree in Adventure P.E. through Plymouth State University and Project Adventure. My wife and I enjoy eating good food and spending time with our 14 year old chocolate lab, Bailey. I'm passionate about teaching physical education, because p.e. allows students to learn about themselves and gain confidence through skill development and games and activities. My goal is for each student to find a sport or activity that they love to do and do this for the rest of their life.
College:
Illinois State University B.S. in Health and Exercise Science
Colorado State University: Teaching Certificate
Plymouth State University and Project Adventure: seeking Master's degree currently
Hometown:
Seneca, Illinois (a town of 2,400)
Why I enjoy teaching:
I enjoy teaching physical education, because it's fun to watch students gain confidence, learn new p.e. skills and games, and enjoy physical activity from kindergarten all the way until 5th grade.
What I like most about my school:
Bacon is a great facility with a great staff, parents and students.
Interest & Hobbies:
My interests include bicycling, rafting, backpacking, photography, and gardening.
My Favorite Book:
The Giver by Lois Lowry
Something most people don't know about me:
I lived on an island for over a month, known as the Farallones (off the coast of San Francisco, CA) where I surveyed Elephant seals, harbor seals and sea lions, migrating whales, seabirds and observed a Great White shark attack a sea lion.
Favorite Quote:
